Credit Authorization Agreement
Effective May 4, 2024
1. Purpose of This Authorization
This Credit Authorization Agreement (“Authorization”) explains how and why Debt Responders, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) and each trusted partner listed on our Trusted Partners page may obtain and use your consumer credit information when you inquire about debt-relief, debt-settlement, debt-consolidation, or related financial products. Our goal is to help you evaluate available options while protecting your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.
2. Your Written Instructions Under the FCRA
By submitting any form on our websites or clicking a button labeled “I’m ready to get my options,” “See if I Qualify,” “Continue,” or similar, you provide written instructions under FCRA § 604(a)(2) authorizing us and each partner on the Trusted Partners list to obtain your consumer credit report, credit score, and other information from one or more consumer-reporting agencies (e.g., Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) solely to evaluate your eligibility for and suitability of debt-relief products.
3. Parties Covered by This Authorization
- Debt Responders, LLC – a lead-generation and marketing company; not a lender, broker, or debt-relief provider.
- Trusted partners – debt-relief providers, lenders, credit-services organizations, and credit-reporting agencies that appear on the live “Partners” page and may change from time to time. Each partner agrees to use your credit information only for the purposes described here and in its own privacy policy.
4. Information We May Obtain
- Full consumer credit report(s) and/or soft-pull summaries
- Current and historical credit scores
- Credit-related attributes (e.g., outstanding balances, payment history)
- Identity-verification data (e.g., address, Social Security number, employment)
5. How the Information Will Be Used
The information may be used to:
- Verify your identity and prevent fraud
- Assess your creditworthiness for debt-relief, settlement, or consolidation offers
- Pre-qualify you with a soft inquiry before any partner requests a hard inquiry, if necessary, to finalize enrollment or extend credit
- Comply with applicable laws and audit requirements
6. Soft vs. Hard Inquiries
Most partners first perform a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. If you later choose to enroll in a specific program or accept a loan, that partner may need to perform a hard inquiry, which may impact your score. We do not control whether or when a partner conducts a hard inquiry.
7. Duration & Revocation of Consent
This Authorization remains in effect for (a) 18 months from your most recent form submission, or (b) until you withdraw consent in writing, whichever comes first. You may revoke consent at any time by emailing info@debresponders.com with the subject line “Revoke Credit Authorization.” Revocation does not affect information already obtained or actions already taken.
8. No Obligation & No Guarantee
Providing this Authorization does not obligate you to purchase any product or service. We are not a lender, creditor, or debt-relief provider and do not guarantee that any partner will extend credit, offer a program, or save you money. Final terms are solely between you and the partner.
9. Your Rights Under the FCRA
You have the right to:
- Know which consumer-reporting agency supplied your report
- Dispute inaccurate or incomplete information with the agency
- Receive a free copy of your credit report from each nationwide CRA once every 12 months at AnnualCreditReport.com
10. State-Specific Disclosures
Certain states require additional notices. If you reside in California, please review the California Privacy Notice before submitting your information.
